To kick off summer 2016 me and my sweet mum decided to go on a citytrip to Milan. Again we found some cheap tickets on a budget airway and off we went.

There are three airports near Milan; Linate, Malpensa and Bergamo. Our flight took us to Bergamo airport from where we took a bus to city centre. From city centre it was easy to find a metro that would bring us close to our apartment. Our apartment was a little bit outside the centre of the city but Milan has an easy and frequent subway system that can take you back and forth and anywhere.

When visiting Milan one cannot skip Il Duomo which can only be described by one word; impressive. I was so busy google mapsing us to this iconic piece tourist stuff that it kinda shocked me when we were actually there all of the sudden. I mean, see for yourself:

When facing Il Duomo turn your head left and you will see one of the entrances to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. This too is an impressive piece of architecture. Take a look inside and you will be enchanted by the magnificent details this mall holds. Besides that this mall is where you can find all the high end stores. But if you are not into that it is definitely worth a look!

On our second day in Milan we took a different road and bought ourselves a trainticket to Varenna. Varenna is one of the small towns near Lago di Como. It takes only about an hour to get there and it is totally worth it. When you’re done with the big city this is the place to relax and unwind. It is easy to buy a ticket to either one of the towns surrounding Lago di Como. The lake itself is pretty amazing and beautiful and there’s a nice and quiet atmosphere. So if you like to think outside the box like me, go and take a trip to Lago di Como.
