Citytrips

As I got back from my amazing first solo trip to Indonesia, I realized that I was bitten by the travelbug. Wanderlust had kicked in and I was determined to travel the world whenever I could. Unfortunately we cannot go on faraway trips to tropical places every month so I decided to explore more closeby. A perfect solution was to go on short citytrips and explore European cities. London and Rome were the first city trips I took to visit friends living there. I learned to travel on a budget, check flight fares regularly to get the cheapest flights and get the best deals for a nice hostel or hotel.

Citytrips to me are a nice short getaway; you get to go on a break for a few days and at the same time discover a new place. It doesn’t require much to go on a citytrip, all you need is a cheap flight which can easily be provided by the many budget airways we have now. Three or four days would be enough to discover a city, that could be a long weekend so you don’t have to take too many days of from studies or work. The plus of only travelling for a few days is that you don't need much so travel light. Travelling by carry on luggage could safe you some money that you can spend on another beer in the city!

Living in the Netherlands there are many European cities to explore. Barcelona, London, Rome, Paris or Berlin, all amazing vibrant cities with lots of history and lots of things to do. But besides the bigger famous cities there are also less famous ones to see as well such as Lille, Marseille, Brighton, Düsseldorf or Antwerp. Whatever you choose every place has something worth seeing.
